Building on the successful Village SOS campaign, a UK-wide £1.4m Big Lottery Funded initiative managed by ACRE, this page is dedicated to promoting the work of enterprising communities across England and the support available to them from the ACRE Network.
Between December 2014 and January 2017 Village SOS worked with over 450 projects across the UK, with the 330 in England being supported by their local ACRE Network member. The projects focused on providing services in their local communities and were offered bespoke advice and support geared to helping them become more capable and confident, with Village SOS adding a small amount of capacity to their journey.

Keeping in touch
Coming soon, as part of an ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable rural action, ACRE will be compiling and distributing a monthly e-news bulletin which will feature stories of success and learning from across rural England. The bulletin will also highlight funding updates, events and networking opportunities, as well as directing community groups to the most appropriate support in their area. If you have any stories of interest that you wish to share please contact Chris Cowcher.
To remain up to date with the latest ‘Enterprising Community’ news please follow the Village SOS Twitter account, which will continue to be used to share the latest information and updates.
