ACRE is working closely with government to see how the experience of Community Led Planning (CLP) can inform the development of Neighbourhood Planning policy

The government is introducing a new right for communities to create Neighbourhood Plans. These plans could be used by communities to propose new land use development locally, such as the building of new homes, businesses and shops.

ACRE is keeping abreast of this emerging agenda because of its relevance to the work of the RCAN. In particular we are keen to ensure that the experience of Community Led Planning informs the government’s thinking about how Neighbourhood Plans might work in practice, and how they will make the most of existing activity.
