Sylvia Brown
Chief Executive
After several years as a trustee and Chair within the RCC network, Sylvia took on the role as Chief Executive of ACRE in 2001 and hasn’t stopped since. She has a degree in mathematics and psychology. Apart from her organisational responsibilities, Sylvia is also actively involved in:
- Representing the interests of both rural communities and of RCCs in the national arena
- Working strategically with government, agencies and partners in the voluntary sector
- Contributing to the wider debate on rural issues through membership of several strategic bodies.
She brings a range of professional skills and knowledge to the work of ACRE from past experience in private sector management. She chaired the Wiltshire Rural Forum for six years and is still a parish councillor in her own community. Sylvia lives in Swindon.
