Paul Dixon
Regional Network Officer
Paul joined ACRE in June 2008 as part of the Rural Infrastructure England project; an initiative financed by the Big Lottery Fund. His role will be to help achieve ACRE’s vision of strong, articulate and inclusive rural communities through:
- Working with and supporting the development of regional Rural Community Action Network (RCAN) members
- Contributing to ACRE’s national policy work, and monitoring policy developments at national and regional level
- Developing ACRE’s rural evidence base, through research and information sharing across the network
- Communicating ACRE’s policies and the work of the RCAN regions externally
For the past 5 years he has worked for a local Council for Voluntary Service as their Funding Advice Worker and has been involved in GEORGE, the South West Regional Funding Advisors Network. He recently completed a Foundation Degree Course in Community Development at Ruskin College. Previous to this he worked with playschemes and out of school clubs in Wiltshire and set up a play resource centre in the county. In his spare time he is involved in Swindon Mela, an Asian arts festival which is held in July every year.
