Paul Dixon

Regional Network Officer

Paul joined ACRE in June 2008 as part of the Rural Infrastructure England project; an initiative financed by the Big Lottery Fund.  His role will be to help achieve ACRE’s vision of strong, articulate and inclusive rural communities through:

  • Working with and supporting the development of regional Rural Community Action Network (RCAN) members
  • Contributing to ACRE’s national policy work, and monitoring policy developments at national and regional level
  • Developing ACRE’s rural evidence base, through research and information sharing across the network
  • Communicating ACRE’s policies and the work of the RCAN regions externally

For the past 5 years he has worked for a local Council for Voluntary Service as their Funding Advice Worker and has been involved in GEORGE, the South West Regional Funding Advisors Network. He recently completed a Foundation Degree Course in Community Development at Ruskin College. Previous to this he worked with playschemes and out of school clubs in Wiltshire and set up a play resource centre in the county. In his spare time he is involved in Swindon Mela, an Asian arts festival which is held in July every year.
