Community Futures
Community Futures is a company limited by guarantee (reg no: 333713) and a registered charity (no: 702233). The organisation, previously known as the Community Council of Lancashire but now operating under a working name of Community Futures, was founded in 1934 in Manchester with the aim of assisting with the relief of poverty during the depression years.
The role of Community Futures has changed several times during its history gradually acquiring a more rural focus, and ultimately becoming the Rural Community Council for Lancashire. In addition to this Community Futures has retained an urban presence within the county and beyond.
Working across the whole county today we continue to work both in rural and urban areas to support, develop and empower local communities through the provision of information, advice and direct assistance and action whilst constantly seeking new opportunities to enhance our work with communities.
